The Rocketboys.

Giving you the music a day early:

The Rocketboys have been visiting Little Rock for a number of years, coming up from Texas and playing their rousing indie rock. The EP Wellwisher and the album 20,000 Ghosts were both well-received, and the band built a following with their soaring sound. But by the end of 2010, the band was almost falling apart, losing three members. Fortunately, the three remaining members (singer Brandon Kinder, keyboardist Justin Wiseman and bassist Josh Campbell) forged ahead, streamlining their sound and writing new music. The result is Build Anyway, a June release, and the band is back on the road, including a stop at Stickyz. The music starts at 9 p.m. with cover $6 for the 18-and-up show. The opening acts are two local acts: electro pop outfit Canopy Climbers and progressive post-rock band Mainland Divide.

Breathe Carolina and The Ready Set are co-headlining a gig at Rev Room. It’s an all-ages show with tickets $16 in advance. No word on start time. The opening acts are Ashland High, the one-man electro pop band of Trace Cyrus (Miley Cyrus’ older brother); pop punker Matt Toka; and the rock and roar of Romance on a Rocketship. But what about these headlining acts? Breath Carolina is the Denver duo of David Schmitt and Kyle Even, an electronic rock act that released its third album Hell Is What You Make It in the summer of 2011. Even is the screamer; Schmitt is the clean singer. The Ready Set is 21-year-old drummer, singer, songwriter and keyboardist Jordan Witzigreuter. Yes, he, too, plays electronic rock and is working on a follow-up to his I’m Alive, I’m Dreaming.

The 2010 release Myself<Letting Go from North Carolina metalcore outfit To Speak of Wolves was fierce and formidable. Clean, catchy choruses mixed with raw, screamo vocals. Extremely speedy rhythms and bone-crushing breakdowns. Now, fans of the band can expect some more with the band’s upcoming May release Find Your Worth, Come Home. Preparing for the release, the band visits Downtown Music. It’s a tour stop that will also feature Oklahoma Christian hardcore band Harp and Lyre, and Texas ministry band Mouth of the South (not with Jimmy Hart) along with local support from White Hall metalcore outfit The Cause, The Cure, and southern Arkansas act The Front Line. The doors open at 7 p.m. with the music starting at 8 p.m. Tickets are $8 in advance and $10 day of show.

Giving you the music a day early:

Earlier this year, Texas indie rock band The Rocketboys released their newest EP, Wellwisher, and singer Brandon Kinder described Wellwisher as not “a concept album but a concept experience. The musical collaboration and nomadic recording process, combined with the lyrical themes of unity, brotherhood and relationships, all contributed to and exuded from the final product.” And so the act is on the road with their spacious guitar and keyboard arrangements, and hard-hitting rhythms, including a stop at Stickyz. The opening acts are Tennessee indie rockers The Winter Sounds and Canopy Climbers, a two-piece Conway outfit known for their electronic pop music, kicking off the music at 8:30 p.m. with a $6 cover for the 18-and-up show.

The new album from Las Vegas hard rock band Adelitas Way is titled Home School Valedictorian, and the 11 tracks are a right uppercut of metal rhythms with polished, post-grunge choruses. Adelitas Way is touring in support of the album, including a stop at Juanita’s, along with Canadian rockers Art of Dying, who had a song on the Transformers: Dark of the Moon soundtrack, and Nebraska rock band Emphatic and Minnesota hard rock act New Medicine. Tickets are $15 for the show with the doors opening at 8 p.m. and the music starting at 9 p.m.

The indie rock of McAllen, Texas, act Dignan returns to Juanita’s along with Austin-based indie band The Rocketboys. The all-ages show begins at 8 p.m. with a $7 cover. On Tuesday, The Rocketboys released their newest EP, Wellwisher, an four-track extended play recorded entirely while the band was on tour. Singer Brandon Kinder described Wellwisher “not as a concept album but a concept experience. The musical collaboration and nomadic recording process, combined with the lyrical themes of unity, brotherhood and relationships, all contributed to and exuded from the final product.” And the Austin American-Statesman describes the band’s music at “clear, ringing guitars and full-bodied keyboard arrangements, hard-driving drum lines and well-practiced transitions between calm and controlled chaos” The band is currently working on their second full-length with the six piece looking at a summer 2011 release date.
