Tsar Bomba.

Giving you the music a day early:

Argenta’s newest nightspot (and day spot, too) is open in The Joint, and the Main Street venue is welcoming The Perfect Storm Tour, which means a visit from self-described “powerful, hook-infused, melodic rock” outfit Fill The Silence. It’s a 21-and-up show with a $5 cover at the door. The music kicks off at 8 p.m. Opening the show will be Tsar Bomba, the Little Rock act that plays quickie tunes that blend jangly power pop with punk and named after the world’s most powerful nuclear weapon ever detonated.

Every time I encounter the name Hawthorne Heights I think it’s some unpublished work by Emily Bronte, the writer of Wuthering Heights. Maybe it should be, but what Hawthorne Heights really is, is an Ohio-bred alternative rock band that throws in a little screamo, hardcore, emo and pop punk into their musical mix so let’s just call them a rock band. For a Juanita’s appearance, the band will be playing new tunes from their eight-track EP Hope (released last week) and other tunes, including possibly “Saying Sorry.” The doors open at 8:30 p.m. and the show starts at 9:30 p.m. with tickets $10 in advance and $12 day of.

Here are Fill The Silence with their “Push”:
