Buzzov-en.

Giving you the music a day early:

After spending the beginning of the 21st century dormant, North Carolina seminal sludge metal band Buzzov-en has returned to touring, including a stop at Downtown Music. Apparently after fellow sludge metal act Eyehategod went back on the road, headbangers were asking the band about Buzzov-en, leading Buzzov-en leader Kirk Fisher to reunite his band. After a successful run of fall 2010 shows, the band is bringing their heavy down-tuned riffage into 2011. The opening act is Virginia doom metal act Cough. The doors open at 8 p.m. with tickets $10 in advance and $12 at the door.

The seriousness of the MacArthur Museum of Arkansas Military History will get a touch of comedy with a visit from Dr. John Taylor, who will be performing his famous hypnosis show for free. Promising to make patrons laugh until their funny bones hurt, the museum does ask for reservations from all guests with hors d’oeuvres being provided. The event last from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
